Girls Rock Camp Toronto is part of the Girls Rock Camp Alliance — an international movement of youth-centered arts and social justice organizations.

Founded in 2010 by a small team of musicians, activists, and organizers,
Girls Rock Camp Toronto is an inclusive community empowering girls, transgender, and non-binary youth through music creation and collaboration.

We aim to foster self-esteem, build leadership skills, and encourage creative self-expression through music.

As a volunteer-driven non-profit, we provide financially accessible programs for participants to learn from professional musicians and strong role models to:

  • Play an instrument

  • Write a song

  • Perform on stage

In addition to the fundamentals of making music, our programs include workshops to help young rockers develop skills and resources for:

  • Critical thinking

  • Empathy

  • DIY culture

  • Media literacy

  • Conflict resolution
