Rock Camp for Grown Ups is designed for adult women, trans, and gender non-binary people 19 and older. This program brings together people from different walks of life and all levels of musical experience for a long weekend of instrument lessons, songwriting, band practice, and workshops, all culminating in a showcase concert at The Burdock.
Classes are taught by experienced Toronto-based artists and professional musicians in small, focused groups of students. Sliding scale tuition makes the program accessible to people from a range of income levels.
Rock Camp makes a great gift for a special person in your life on the occasion of a birthday, anniversary, mother's day or other significant event!
SELECTION & NOTIFICATION
Campers are selected by a committee seeking to establish a balanced and diverse camp population. The submission date of the application and receipt of the expression piece is also taken into consideration.
It is important to note that we may receive more applications than spots available, and may not be able to accept every person who applies. Musicianship or experience with an instrument is not a factor in selection - all levels of music experience welcome!
Additional information about the program will be sent with acceptance letters.
Campers choose which instrument to learn: guitar, bass guitar, drums, or keyboards.
Please indicate first and second choice of instrument on the application. Due to the need to acquire gear in advance, you cannot change your selection after you send in your application, and you cannot change instruments during the program.
Instruments will be provided, but if you have your own guitar or bass, you may bring it. Please note that Girls Rock Camp Toronto does not accept liability for personal instruments.
Girls Rock Camp Toronto does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national and/or ethnic origin, citizenship, sexual orientation, mental or physical ability, or gender identity in the administration of any of its educational programs, admissions policies, tuition assistance, and other camp-related policies and programs, as well as volunteer and employment-related policies and activities.
